Strange Things Happen

My alarm clock can be set to either play the radio or beep in a really loud and annoying way. I have a habit of staying awake later than I should, setting the alarm to Radio, and then having to run around the next morning because I didn’t awaken promptly.

I want to improve this about myself. So, when I went to bed last night, I set the alarm to Buzzer, because that wakes me right up. I have the alarm just out of arm’s reach, so I have to get up to shut it the hell off.

I woke up this morning, and the radio was playing. I’m positive I really did push the switch all the way over. The only conclusion I’ve been able to reach is that, at some point in the night, I got up, reached over, and moved the switch, all without regaining consciousness.

How am I supposed to better myself if my subconscious is willing to take over and mess with me?

    Have you checked this by setting the alarm to “two minutes from now” and seeing whether the “beep” setting works?
